I'm thinking Thursday and Friday are two of the busiest days there. Probably a lot of folks that get their package together during the weekend so they can ship Monday putting it onsite on Thursday/Friday.

Anybody have experience freight shipping here? I've got almost 200 pounds of stuff to ship and I'm wondering if it would be more economical to just strap it all to a pallet and have a truck haul it up there... I know stuff like the boxes of HD's and cables won't be worth it to ship and it's hard to include them in a box with mobo's/RAM/CPU's. Wish I was closer to Ohio or somebody in TX had customer service and pricing like these guys!

Maybe you should discuss shipping with a local freight outfit, you might find a full gaylord not much different than a partial/small pallet, or even several FedEx boxes for that matter. Then you'd have room for everything
I used one several times out of Nashville, and found it rather economical, and easy. I'd actually fill the shipment, already on a pallet in back of my truck, and when I got it there, they'd grab it off with a forklift. I can't recall their name dangit, I found em though by getting on the phone(and the internet), and just shopping around

200 lbs wouldnt be economical to ship freight. You need to be looking closer to around 500 lbs.
If you have 500 lbs in your lot, you can request a freight quote. Contacting your local freight guy wont help you out because we ship directly through asset based companies, not brokers, and with our volume you will save a few bucks.

Thanks for the replies! Amazing how the industry changes in a couple years. Back when I was hauling cars box carriers would pick up cars and motorcycles with forklift loading on both ends because it paid better than pallets/freight of equal size and weight. I'll see how much my stack grows in the next couple of days; keep finding more boards and drives hiding, and a few friends are going to contribute to the pile.

    Ewasted,

Could you give me an idea on a price per lb for ram, with the fingers cut/broken off?

Or even if you buy them like that?

[QUOTE=Recyclotrops;89225]It took me forever to finally break it down and get it packed in boxes, mostly due to my own laziness, but my first load made it to the FedEx drop-off point today. Two boxes totalling about 150 lbs. of material. I hope I have it all prepared, packaged, and secured to make it worthwhile for both me and Ewasted. So far my experience with Ewasted and his staff has been awesome. I did use his prepaid shipping service, and it saved me about 30%. His staff even gave me some pointers on how I can save another 15% if I package it differently next time.

I will follow up in this thread for any onlookers who are interested in a review from someone who has only been doing this for a few weeks. I am pretty much a newb at this and this will be my first load of e-waste sold to anyone. There are a couple of local buyers, but Ewasted's prices are better, even after I deduct the shipping costs. Fingers crossed for a good payday. [/QUOTE

Hey Recyclotrops, I was wondering if you could share the pointers on how to save another 15% if I package my package differently next time? That would be greatly appreciated, thanks

I think you will be very happy with your payday. Remember this is the holliday season so your packages might take a bit longer to get there but the waight will be well worth it. Next time try to keep each box at 60lbs or less for better shipping prices. I've shipped to ewasted several times and I'm very pleased with his service. Let us know how things turn out for you.

I sent out a 52 pound box last week, got the check in the mail this week. Very happy with Ewasted's service! He's answered every question I've had promptly. Sending out another 52 pound box tomorrow and if I have time to strip some towers, I'll have another for the begining of next week. Thank you Ewasted!

I requested a prepaid shipping quote and got my labels. I requested that the packages be picked up and I was wondering if I needed to request the pickup from the FedEx website or did you guys do that already? I realize these questions are best served on your site, but I need an answer ASAP considering the packing is going out tomorrow. Thanks.
