Additionally we get freight shipments in that have had NO presorting done to them... as much as our suppliers have problems, we have them too and those issues trickle down the line to everyone.

We are working on rectifying these issues. Stay tuned.
This is a question to benefit everyone, and I am hoping that I am pretty close, as I try to make things as easy as I can.

This won't help the people that don't care about sorting, but at least a few of us try hard to send organized packages. Can you give guidelines for separating items (keeping them separated, not the actual sorting)? there are several right ways, but would it make it easier on your end if we all did it the same, or similar?

Please comment on my methods to make me and hopefully the other readers better customers.

Telecom and mid grade boards are hard to sort, but I try to keep them grouped together and attempt to pile similar boards together.

When shipping multiple boxes, I try to put large and small socket boards in separate boxes.

small amounts of CPU's go in zip-locks, ram goes in large or multiple zip-locks. these are then grouped in such a way that they will stay together, sometimes in a box.

Hard drive boards go in a shopping bag at the top.

gold ends go in whatever container seems appropriate at the time.

I'd also like to know what are some definite DO NOTS for eWaste. For example, definitely DO NOT ship X part in Y container

The way you outlined it was perfect! The challenge is legitimately no sorting done what so ever. People who mix all items into a box and ship it - memory fingerboards, tv boards, crt boards, floppy drives, etc. When I mean unsorted, i mean unsorted.

E, I have some devalued ram that I would like to send to you, and by that I mean ram that has had the gold trim removed by someone else.

What is the pricing for these items?

    Hey E-Wasted,

I'm getting ready to send you my first shipment. Most computers were very straight-forward, but...

I have about 125-150 iMac G4's (The Lampshade model) to disassemble.

How do I classify the Logic Board? This is what they look like:

Also, do you know if I can remove the G4 processor from this board, and should I?

Not necessarily. Ship, business as usual via parcel if using our labels. Unfortunately if shipping on your own accounts you will have to hold until Monday to ship. That will be when we send out the information on the new location.

    Thanks!

Congrats on the move. Hope it goes as smooth as it can with a minimum of stress....

I had a question. With the move do you guys plan to offer a set "drop-off" day or days with set hours or will you still do the "by appointment" set up? I thought I remember you saying it was being looked at the last time I was up there. Set days might cut the "noise" down for you guys a bit and speaking for myself I would love to see it. I could plan a drop off without having to bother you guys with private messages/emails in setting up a date and time. Just curious.....
