    All-

A quick question to anyone who knows... I just got my latest invoice back from CFCS and, as usual, the tallies don't match up quite exactly to mine (but generally enough in my favor to keep me feeling fat and sassy). Anyhow, could anyone explain what "mid grade high" and "LT boards" are? I can kinda guess what a "better" mid-grade board is, but what the heck is an LT board?

    Thanks and cheers,
    thebugguy

PS: Another thumbs up to ewasted and crew- I was expecting a longer wait given the chaos of moving a business like that, but no- they're on top of it!

    wadarbr549-

Good guess- I was given $4/lb for them, whatever they were (I was credited for 2 lbs, but that weight doesn't seem to match up with any combination of boards in my home-made inventory list).

    Thanks!

Thebugguy.....I believe the LT could stand for Lap Top boards. I just got my payout sheet from them and had 3 different Telecom prices, but no low telecom. I did have Laptop Boards and the price they pay right now is exactly $4 per lb. My sheet did spell out Laptop, but someone writing yours may have shortened it.

Thank you Ewasted for your continued excellent service and I hope this move makes it even better.

msmoorad - I'm pretty sure all of that would not cover the shipping cost.

I just bought my first box of mid-grade boards the other day. Gee ..... with them all mixed together like that it's no easy task to sort them. It kinda gives on an appreciation of what it could be like on e-wasted end.

It's really all a matter of trust. It's better to just do the best you can and not sweat the details.

I didn't bother to inventory the stuff that i sent in this time. Just left a note describing what was inside the box so as to hopefully make it a little easier for the sorters on his end.

Got the value recovered report this morning and i'm well satisfied. He's a good buyer. They have their own way of sorting and it's probably not an exact science. Some things are just hard to classify. No worries !

msmoorad, You'll have to generate a whole lot more to make it worthwhile, what you have there would not pay the shipping.

    Buggy,

Hopefully I'm not stepping on Mario's toes by answering.

LT boards are laptop motherboards (current price is $4/ lb just checked)

Mid grade high are circuit boards that are lower than motherboards and telecom boards (current quoted price is $1.70) Mario would be able to better define these. should have some chips and no heavy components, but check with Mario.

If you a sending by fed ex, keep your boxes under 75 pounds. That is the magic number where cost changes dramatically

70 Pounds seems to be the magic number for me, unless something changed.

Could be! I always thought it was 75. To be safe, keep your boxes below 70 pounds. Above that and FedEx seems to have higher rates.

Ewasted, have you brought any ewaste from NewZealand before?

Msmoorad sorta got the same probem that we have here, it just costs too much to ship it anywhere.

However, I have talked to a guy in the scrapmetal business. Part of what he does is to send shipping containers full of engines and other car parts to the USA
Because there's always a little bit of space in the roof/top of the shipping container, he can squeeze in lowheight pallets of stuff.
When the shipping container gets to America, they unload the pallets of ewaste and send them onwards.

Well, this is the theory, I'm not sure if he's actually done it yet. I just talked to a worker there about it.
I have over a full size pallet so far. And our local ewaste collector just went bust.......
.I know one of the subcrontractors/collectors, he's got pallets and pallets of CRT tvs all ready to go...
Now he just got a CRT problem.... The goverments expected to step in and figure out a way of dealing with the CRTs.

But, he also has computers, he and I have talked about him scraping them down himself and us 2 combining a load of ewaste to the US of A thru the scrapmetal dealer.
I can show him how to do it, or buy them off him.

I will get more details from the scrapdealer, who I have not sold to yet. I expect its going to be about 3 pallets of very clean and well sorted escrap.
