Should be bringing you a load Friday.
Should be bringing you a load Friday.
After waiting 3 days for pricing on some boards I was told by a rep in a voice mail he had been too busy to get back to me and to call George, the company president, for pricing on loads that small. :mad:Really? The next day I took 500lbs to ESR.
Seems Arcoa realizes there have been some communication problems and trying to remedy them. Tuesday I received a price-list update from Todd Anderson and after a pleasant phone conversation about the communication issues I feel confident in giving them another shot. I also asked Todd to look into payment on my last load from 5-17-12.
Yesterday I received a call from Miriam at MidWest, the local depot, regarding payment. It turns out when we dropped off the load they were up to their elbows in alligators and my invoice wasn't forwarded to Chicago. She is a sweetheart:drozenski: and apologized profusely so I'm not upset.
Todd called me this morning to inform the check is going out tomorrow. It took 7 business days to find the problem but only a couple to fix it.Quote:
We did received the scrap on May 17, that day was really busy here, we were training 2 new guys for the warehouse, doing inventory and selling ,and receiving machines,
we had many customers here also that we had to take care of , etc,….. and we were working on resetting the outlook… … Diane was here and leaving next day…. Sooo…….. just imagine the picture… ……….……
Todd told me I should contact him with info on what is being dropped off so he can invoice it before I arrive and call Miriam to schedule a drop-off appointment to avoid any delays. He also informed me of a $.25 cleaning fee on boards that aren't clean and a few other thing you need to know.
PM or text me for Todd's cell#
Text me his number please i broke my phone so im dead in the water far as networking goes.
sent
You have a very pleasant staff and a nice facility. Some pallet racking for the printers, software to tie the scale into the computer system, a video system, and a few gay lords on scales, hire a specialist like Dune, and you all could streamline the process and probably do really well in Orlando with a little marketing.
I am glad to see the good reviews for arcoa I am making my first trip to columbia tommorow and was unsure what to expect....
I have been communicating with todd anderson and so far everything has been okok
Dropped off a mixed load of 500 lbs yesterday morning. Dropoff went smooth waiting to see how I'm paid.
danm thats a nice one. congratz jaydee. 500lbs of what?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...445/power1.jpg200 lbs of transformers, batteries, cellphone, HD, cd, high grade and power boards.
Went to ARCOA in Orlando today. Arrived at 8:30am. Finding the place was tricky - I had the right address and the GPS brought me to it, but the sign said MidWest Copier and I was confused till I walked in and saw a pamphlet for ARCOA on the counter. I met with Fidel who was very nice and helped unload and used the forklift to bring everything up on the dock (my van had loose items and boxed stuff, all sorted which we put on pallets since I couldn't get the van up the ramp). I could tell Fidel wasn't completely up to par on ewaste. He said he had just been trained and was still learning. He was very polite and helpful, and answered any questions he could. He took pictures of everything as it was weighed, and afterwards I helped him put it all in the gaylords in the back of the warehouse.
Lindy took over and sent all the pictures and weights to George and Bud in Illinois with some questions I had on grading some of the boards which were promptly responded to. She filled out the forms, but it seemed as though they had problems with the form for items/weights in Excel. Being well versed in Excel, I asked if I could take a look. 20 minutes later after fine tuning, putting in all the ewaste items, adding automatic calculations, and sizing everything properly, Form #28 was redesigned and ready for easier processing for future deliveries!
So now I have the wait for the check. This load should be a good payout. I will post how long it takes and when it arrives.
I brought about 2,300 lbs of stuff loaded in the van. The 2 biggest weights were 703 lbs of hard drives w/o boards and 553 lbs of motherboards, riser cards and pc cards which were all graded at high grade green board. Also had 300 lbs of power supplies, 286 lbs of UPS units, 212 lbs of individual lead acid batteries pulled from UPS's, and some other misc stuff. Here's some pics:

96 lbs of high grade network boards from 3 Nortel Network 8-bay backplane racks

703 lbs of hard drives w/o boards

30 lbs misc cable (floppy/hard drive ribbon cables mostly)
I'm glad I found a place semi-local (75 miles from me) that has good pricing on a lot of the stuff I don't want to ship or isn't worthwhile to ship.
Dude your gonna get your balls busted in charges probably on the pc cards. You left steel on them. nice load other wise.were was my call at thought you were gonna stop by :-p
I kept the mounting brackets on because i didnt know if i would be leaving them at arcoa or sendig them off to somewhere else I asked about taking the cards back and removing the plates and bring them back with another shipment, but Fidel asked about it and we ended up dropping the final weight by 15 pounds which is more than all those mounting brackets would have weighed if I removed them.
As far as contacting you, it was a quick decision and I was using a friends van so I had to get it back at a certain time. I spent 4 hours at ARCOA unloading, weighing, and papaerwork. I will make another trip up soon.
Hahhaha yeah 4 hours seems to be right. I'll just have to catch you next time.
What was your pricing on the Telecom cards?
and high grade green if you dont mind me asking
The Orlando depot is still getting the hang of Ewaste. In the future get an appointment, have an invoice started by your rep, and have your questions answered by email and you will never have to spend 4 hours doing a drop off.
IMHO it is not how everything goes when all is right it is how a company responds when there is a problem. When I dropped my load on the 20th I asked my Rep Todd (if you aren't already working with someone at ARCOA contact Todd) if he could expedite payment so I could have a check before I leave for vacation on the 4th. Through some miscommunication of different departments he was told and informed me the check was mailed on the 21st and then again on the 28th. This afternoon when I got mad the money wasn't the issue with me it was going to mailbox day after day looking for a check about the miscommunication he went to the President George who bent over backwards to get me paid by paypal, overnight delivery, even direct deposit. George went over and above to keep me a happy customer, that's what customer service is about.
It was all graded as high grade mb at current pricing of $3.85/lb.
As far as the dropoff being 4 hours, it was part my fault as well. It was my first ewaste dropoff anywhere so I had questions about grading and sorting. I also volunteered to fix the spreadsheet. It will held me and others for future drops there' it was simple for me but their pc wad having issues with excel lagging so it took 4x as long. But ty for the advice. I started with Bud through email. If I have payment issues I will get with Todd and/or George.
WOW!! That was a nice load, how long did it take to get that much e-waste? NO wonder I can't get much e-waste looks like you got it all. LOL!!
Anyway we can get the updated Orlando pricing posted ARCOA?
