    A/C & Refrigerator Compressors

We are looking for an additional supply 5000 compressors monthly, sealed with oil, of US origin and recently pulled for export to the Dominican Republic. We are looking to offer USD$7.00+ (negotiable on quality) per compressor packaged in pallets. We import around 10,000 compressors monthly from different yards in the US and are looking to expand our supplier base. I personally travel to the US on a monthly basis and would be happy to visit you to establish a relationship and inspect your offerings. We are looking to establish a mutually beneficial long-term working relationship with you.

We also purchase the evaporator fan for USD$1.50 and the condenser black back coil for USD$1.00, if you are interested in selling those. These allow us to have a wider selection for our clients. Suppliers tend to find selling these to us attractive.

PM for more details. We are a serious buyer and travel to the US monthly to inspect compressors and will meet any serious suppliers.

    Regards,
    Alex

    Edit:
We are also interested in A/C compressors in quantities of over 200.

    PM me any questions

I would love to help as per your PM but I only get one or two a week. I have them cut up before I finish my second after work beer.

I would love to sell them to you for a better profit but as a small time scrapper I have not the room to collect that many. On the other hand I see a good market that seems to be untapped at this point. On second thought I will be looking into this,....

I have for some time now considered sealing up the working compressors and setting them aside. How many would it take from me, ( A small time AC guy) for you to be interested in dealing with?

I recall you want only USA product. Would you kindly expand on that?

    Thanks,

    Joe

    injunjoe,

Thanks for the reply. We are looking for larger quantities of over 1500 to at least fill a 20ft container. We also purchase couple of refrigerators and A/Cs with each container. We pay for the back coil of refrigerators and evaporator fans. As you said this is a untapped market. A 40ft container can easily be worth upwards USD22,000 to us and an huge opportunity for a smaller scrapper. If you have contacts in the area take the time to get in touch with them and see what you can find. We are a reliable and constant buyer.

The reason we require US/Canada product is because our refrigerator compressors need to be 110v 60Hz, as opposed to for example UK which is 220v 50Hz. These compressors will not be scrapped for metals and instead reused as replacement parts for older refrigerators down here in the Dominican Republic. Generally under 10% of the compressors we purchase are bad and are resold as scrap down here. (A/C compressors should be 220v 60Hz)

Feel free to ask more questions.

    Alex

Just wanted to put another option out there, a deal we recently struck.

We will pay USD$8.00 per compressor if we can select them. Under most circumstances we will pick at least 90% of any load as good. You can then sell the others through you usual channels. This allows us to save in not having to buy and transport compressors which are useless (to us anyways) and pay the supplier more per compressor. You get more money for a smaller load and we save in rejects.

We inspect compressors before any purchase so we can give a estimate of rejects before any deal is finalized.

    Shoot me any questions.

The yard I go to, is one of the biggest yards for Northern Virginia and Maryland.

You can reach the yard I go to at:

    Prince William Metal Recycling
    7905 Notes Drive
    Manassas, VA 20109
    (703) 330-5881
    M-F: 7:30am-4:30pm
    Saturday: 7:30am-11:30am

When you contact them, just ask to speak to someone about buying whatever it is your looking for. Compressors, fridges, etc.

No need to mention my name, as I don't get a commission or nothing like that.

The more buyers they get, the better prices are for everyone.

Thanks for the info. My brother (the actual inspector) is currently in Baltimore. Let's see how it goes. I will let you know.

    edit:

We do generally like to deal with recyclers, more than scrap yards. The people who actually take apart the refrigerator. This allows us to buy other refrigerator parts from them and for better quality.

Jeviduty, do they make models of things out of the left over compressor parts?

I see small models of stuff like motorbikes & small men doing things like this.

    Hi phillip,

We only work with recyclers that actually remove the compressors themselves from the refrigerator. We travel monthly to the US to inspect. We will gladly visit anyone to make an offer and negotiate a deal. We prepay before loading and organize shipping.

As for the windows A/C, we only purchase 220v rotary compressors.

Let me know if you have any questions.

We are the only local recycler who dismantles ac and refrigerator units. The quota of 200 at a time is no problem. 1500 is a bit tougher and take more time. PM me see what we can do.

What is your yard paying you for them now? As long as it's over .25 a pound it might be a push for you.
