We all use tools daily in the scrap metal business, whether it's a winch, a drill, a grinder, a
freon recovery machine, a
wire stripper, a torch or machinery skates, they all help get the job done. This section of the forum is for members to rate and review scrap metal tools and equipment.
If you see an item listed here you have experience with, drop in and rate/review it for other members to see. Maybe it sucked, maybe it lasted you 10 years, either way here you can share your experience with others.
As a Scrap Metal Forum member, not only can you rate and review products here, but you can also submit new tools or equipment listings of your own for review at any time. For example maybe you're looking into a specific cutting torch, a wire stripper or a utility trailer? Take 2 minutes to post a review thread via the
Product Submission form, and get ratings/reviews from other forum members who have experience with it.
FAQs
Q - How do I get the "image or product (url)" in the product submission form without jumping through hoops?
A - It's simple. When you're on the page displaying the product you want to list, assuming there is a picture of the item, follow these steps.
Right-click on the image and select "copy image location" or "save image location". Then, in the 'image of product (url)' field, right-click and paste. This should paste the URL of the product image. That's all. You can also right-click on an image and select 'view image', then copy the URL in the address bar in your browser and use that.
It's easy to find images of the tools and equipment you're interested in, you could find products, images and information via
Amazon,
Ebay, Harbor Freight, etc.
Q - What do I put in the "Link to product" field exactly?
A - Here include a link to the product you would like to list. It could be a link to the product on Amazon, Ebay, Harbor Freight, Global Industrial, the Trailer Store, etc, wherever. Members and guests will be able to follow this link from the forum to view the product itself.
Q - What is the "Manufacture/Brand" field for, what if I don't know or it's home made?
A - The field is required, however you can put anything in the box. Home made, DeWalt, Unknown, etc.
Q - The product I want to list doesn't seem to fit any of the categories on the product submission page, what should I do?
A - For anything that doesn't quite fit in an existing category, use the 'General Scrap Metal Tools and Equipment' category.
