I donated to another forum I belong to, and it doesn't require membership for anything. I did so because it's probably the single most important repository of information, anywhere in the world, that pertains to refining precious metals.

This site is equally important to scrapping. The knowledge, the leads, the information, the support, are you kidding me? Try this. Don't come here for a month, you have 257 posts since July, lets see how easy it will be for you to just discount this site for a month. And if you find this site has value, if you have ever used any of the help or pointers, if you ever met someone you do business with from here, quantify those things in monetary terms, and then if you find you have made any profit at all that is the worth of this forum. If you learned how to scrap something correctly that either saved you time or helped you make money, any of that.

I also don't see anyone pushing anyone to do anything. An extra value added service is being offered to you, and if you decide not to take it then you are deciding not to access that area. It's the same thing some scrappers do to make a better profit. They do just a little extra work to add value to their scrap. They process it to a point that makes it easier for the refiner, and they make more money. I see this extra added service in exactly this way. It's a more exact and digestible area of the forum intended to help those who understand the value of that particular service.

Are you one of those people that believe those who have spent all the time, effort and energy learning what they have, to just freely give that information to you so that you can happily go along your way armed with hard earned knowledge of those that came before you? I am sorry, but your sense of entitlement disgusts me.

I'm glad most of the people on this forum are good solid people, and not expecting the world, sun and moon at no charge at all. I'm am glad that most people on this forum understand the value of the information contained here in, and when they are able, they feel that to support this forum is a good idea. And I am glad that those that cannot yet donate, do so in the form of information that we all can learn, and earn from. So many good people, and here you are.

Wait there's scotch and ceegars? How did I miss this? I'da signed up right away!

All kidding aside, I think it's great they have that option. I don't find it pushy or in your face, lest no more then any other website I visit that has ads. Lest this ad will help me, unlike the other 50 billion "Buy your lil blue pills here!" on other sites. I don't have a membership yet, do I plan to? Yep. After the turn of the new year I'll be getting one. If for no other reason then to help this site keep on keeping. As Scott said above, this forum has provided me with so much information thats helped me and my company grow. That is priceless to me. So if parting with $37 bucks, for a lifetime membership...why not? I pay more in a year for Netflix an that's a fee every month. Or it's one night of not going out to with the wife, dinner and a movie I'd easily spend 3x that.

Once things have settled down after the new year, you all can expect me to be searching out that scotch an ceegars. I'm ok if I only find tequila and whiskey tho.

Sirscrapalot - Thanking the admin for not blasting me with pointless ads.

It's right between the BBQ Pit and the Movie Theater on the left. The scotch is in a little bar fridge, cigars are on a silver platter on top. You can't miss it.

when I started I had 0 and I mean 0 not one penney not one dime. i could not afford a membership or to even a small donation. with my personality and detemination, along with much info on the forum, as sooin as I was able, I was glad to join the scrap room and pay the small fee compaired to the valuable info I recieved here and most impotantly the members I have met and the friends I have made .

to be honest I don't use the scrap room all that much, but the small fee was to me the least I could do.

If you are not able to pay the fee, thats one thing, and I understand that. But to rant against the small fee just for giggles tells me you hold the forum and all its info and members in disregard and that maybe you are 100% right and for you overvalued soooo, maybe you don't need us skippy. just my .02

For me joining the forum as a member was my way of saying thank you for putting this together. I have made some very good money using the information I found here. I paid for it with the profits I earned scrapping so it was easy. If you can't afford it now, maybe by utilizing the information on the site you will be able to someday. I just felt like after coming to the party for so long I could at least bring some chips and Pepsi. Just my .02

Can't wait to join! Just as soon as my paypal transfer goes through...

I recommend joining to anyone who uses this site with any regularity. I for one appreciate the invaluable info that i've gleaned from this site and it's definitely been worth a sum well beyond $37 dollars I can't wait to see what's in there!

I am going to donate pretty soon. Even though i am from the UK, i have found you guys incredibly helpful. I just have one small question. I'm aware i am not the only non-american person who browses these forums. I wanted to know if it was OK for me to advertise in the buyers section for european sellers?

Yes that is fine. If needed we can create a new prefix option to select for that.
