    How would one identify "inconel"

I have read several things on inconel on this forum, but I am yet to find a way to identify it. I have personally never come across this metal, but I am interested in finding out how I can identify it so I do not miss it. I have looked at pictures of it on google and searched "how to identify inconel", but have found nothing. If anyone could help me out that would be great.

    thanks

Take the metal down to the yard and have them shoot it with a XRF spectrum analyzer, take a list of the metal and chemical percentages for the various inconels (maybe incoloys too) and compare it to the results on the gun.

Also a magnet will not stick to it, but will have a very light attraction
(note: this isnt always true in some situations)
