My yard mamager stopped by the shop today to see how things are going. Gave me some pointers on doing different grades (ie: 95% aluminum) and to let me know prices are definitely going up!

Mascrap, how do you sell your xmas lights? Do you have to take the lights out or do you have to cut the sockets off or can you sell the with the lights still in them?

You can sell them with the lights still on but if you cut the lights off its No.2 insulated wire. Its like a .50 cents price difference with the bulbs still on

How much weight do you loose by cutting off the sockets and throwing them in the garbage? Might not be worth your time to cut the sockets off, if you know what I mean.

    2 pounds of Christmas lights @ $0.45/pound = $.90

    1 pound of #2 insulated wire @ $1.05/pound = $1.05

I just leave the Christmas wire the way it is because I spend my time on other items to break down. This time I only brought in 2 little sets of wire, where as last time I grout in 40 lbs of lights alone which is probably over 30 different sets of lights.

it might be even harder as they have introduced a new type of freon and I don't think they can use the old stuff anymore!

It might be easier if you have several to do at one time, or maybe offer to bring them to them?
