    Copper prices

What do you guys think the price of copper will do in the winter months? #2 is good right now at $3.10. Should I hold out and sell later or sell it now? I dont need the money I am just wondering what you guys think I should do. It always seems like I get a better price if I take in over 200 pounds at a time right now I have close to if not more than that. And what is everybody else getting for #2 copper?

I take stuff in when I am out of space. Whatever they pay is what I get. I really don't have the room to play the hoarding game.

You will not see copper go much higher than it is now. Perhaps a few cents either way but that freakshow we had a couple weeks ago was just that...a freakshow. There is nothing in the market that would indicate copper rising much more. I'm sorry to say it but we are in a funk for awhile.

personally i sell when my buckets get full.

many people buy and hold onto commodities, such as gold and silver. why not hold onto copper as a commodity?

I used to hold but the market can burn you badly and so now I process and sell. Nothing stays in inventory longer than 48 hours. Sometimes I lose a nickle and sometimes I make a nickle. In the end though I seem to come out ahead doing that.

Agreed. Same thing here. Not to mention that I can't predict the market. At least not this year. I used to hold longer than I do now because the nearest nonferous yard was a 33 mile round trip. I now have one just a mile from the house so I take stuff in on a regular basis.

Copper is going to be trending lower with anemic demand right now. Two or three weeks ago was just what HVP was talking about a freak incident.

I ask because the first response would be "If you need money sell now"

I'm saving all mine. Don't need the cash right now. Heard price will peak in Dec. There's a lot of talk about china's economic boom slowing down. Too many things could also happen to bring prices up. I got my copper for free so whats there to lose?
