$245/ton is pretty good. $240/ton here in Central Indiana.
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!
Geting .20 for electric motors here..id be happy with that price...
Transformers were .26 last week..wish I could mix em
Motors and transformers pay the same here.
$225.00 GT for steel - up! Nice!
Copper was $3.00 lb last week and its down to $2.80 lb this week (well, on Tuesday anyways)
#2 low grade wire .75 lb
yellow brass $1.80lb
Our shred went up to $.09 a lb, from $.075/lb. Nice little raise on that... but copper prices dropped a dime per pound, across the board.
Wolf, I never know what or when steel will rise but last time it was that high by me was January of last year!
I think Brojer mentioned he was now getting ten cents a pound at his yard (he's just a bit east of me, I think). Hopefully you will see a bump in your shred prices soon, New.
I haul about 800-1000 lbs a week of shred across the scale, so it was a small, but noticeable, little bump.
Were getting 250/Ton for steel and .22 for electric motors on the south side of Chicago. #2 Ins wire is up at .98 from .93 first jump on ins wire in over a year.
I'm so envious of most of the steel prices I see on here. By me, cars are $135, shred/tin is $130, prepared/#1 is $160, and clean auto cast is $180. Only way I can get more is to save up enough to ship out an entire truckload at once, and that's just not doable for me right now.
