Actually the shadow mask is Invar which is a 65Fe35Ni alloy used for it low coefficient of thermal expansion. This and other GP RF shielded magnetic material like the magnetic gold plated waveguides in cell tower equipment, is worth far more than shead. Invar in quantity is worth in the $15.00# range. Finding a buyer is the problem, you will need several hundred pounds to get anyone interested. you will also need to know you have Invar so you need to be able to test with an XRF to be sure to not waste anyones time. If it reads anything other than 65Fe35Ni you have another valuable alloy that you will need to gather in quantity. Alloys can bring good money if you have enough to sell.

I would guess that the yard is just selling to a larger yard that is paying the $0.08-$0.10 range.

Too bad. Tin is actually at around $11 a pound right now. About 2200 per ton. Tin - Monthly Price - Commodity Prices - Price Charts, Data, and News - IndexMundi
I'll buy all of their tin at $5 a pound and I'll pay shipping.

My first question for the OP is if this was your first time to this yard? It sounds like it was, perhaps the quantity combined with that had them on the chincy side and you just need some repore(sp?) to build up?
