My quote for my load tomorrow was 170/Ton. Kind of disappointing.
Anyone in Denver doing better?

125 a ton today .055 a pound. Poor summer pricing.
Looking more and more like this is bigger than a "summer price drop"

Wow are those prices pretty crappy. Were getting 210 a ton for shred all month for May on the south side of Chicago. June prices are probobly ganna drop lower
that along with the bad fundamentals, fuel is up, cost of living is up, unemployment is up, retail sales are down, all of these factors play a roll in it
retail sales came into the market today, they did not meet expectations
so how do retail sales affect scrapping / scrap prices? well people are fixing stuff and holding off major purchases rather than buying new stuff, so less scrap is being produced and there is less demand for scrap
the current worldwide economic depression (not a recession, this has gone on for over 10 years now) , means low demand for steel
Talking another 15 a ton off for next month! Looks like I'll be taking off til prices come back. oh well, good fishing round here I've heard!
Here in Lampasas TX it is $170.00 ton but the yard is 15 miles away or I can go to the yard here in town and get paid $160.00 a ton. I was told they will have to go down soon but don't know when.
We are at 150/ton today to unofficially start June.
I may starve to death...
