    Ouch!

Well when you WERE sitting at:
    $240/ton steel
    .42 on batteries
    .50 on Sheet Alum
    and
    $1.00/lb on #2 copper wire

    AND ARE NOW AT:
    $180 on Steel
    .32 on batteries
    .40 on Sheet Alum
    and
    .75 on #2 wire

It is one of those- Same amount of work to get that to bring in.. with a lot less return on your time.
    It bites!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

Many wonder why some continue to scrap but refused to sell. These are local prices for my scrap: unprep $75/net ton, prepared $100/net ton, Copper 1 $1.80/pd., Copper 2 $1.60/pd., wire 1 $1/pd., wire 2 0.49/pd., alum. cans $0.40/pd. and cast alum $0.40/pd.

    Scrap Prices in Central Indiana

You need to go to a different yard... Omnisource, Farnsworth, Trinity and J Soloken (not sure on spelling) all are beating those prices. Sounds like you are selling to the group in Martinsville...

I deal with someone in Edinburgh.. but the prices of non-ferrous are getting way too low.. needing to shop for sure before the next run.. There is a member here that I talk with a little that works at Farnsworth.. he is tough to get ahold of though! Still need to do a meet and greet with him.

Sorry sledge about not getting back to you sonner, and thanks to all you for the plug about Farnsworth, we try to be fair with our prices and give the best customer service possible. I'm on vacation this week so I don't have our current prices but everything seems to being steady. China has been in a lot and buying so thats a good sign so prices may go up. Anybody care to stop buy and check us out feel free to do so. I'll send you pm later today sledge.

Yeah... your welcome for that. The jack tard was coming to purchase our 30K lbs for a container load, and he decided to use us for a trip, and buy from your yard instead and have us pay his way.

Yeah, my main non-ferrous guy updated his price list on 11-23. #2 Cu down to $1.20, lighter gauge insulated #2 down to 35 cents, electric motors down to 4 cents, and drained compressors down to 2 cents. Aluminum has dropped too at this place. I don't see my heat sinks going to town anytime soon. I see more totes in action in my garage as storage for a longer term duration, especially stuff that is easy to pack.

Yeah, I know that the Cu bubble may have finally corrected itself but if this is truly the new normal for multiple years, I'll wait it out for a while (or until the storage space is maxed out).
