Finally a thread I can get into. I go to RSI but as of last Monday they are now Northern Metal. If you want the best prices for your escrap, my vote is for Enviro Chem in Rogers. You get all the prices up front and they are a refinery so they can cut better deals.

The RSI that I usually go to typically are a bunch of goons when it comes to E scrap. The manager came out and weighed my processors and memory. He then gave me a low ball quote for both but then dropped the weights so I was only going to be paid less.
Maybe its better now that they're owned by another company...

Scrap Jack LLC in south metro Minnesota; EPA 608 Certified; MPCA registered; DOT Registered; Universal scrap hauler http://scrapjackllc.com

Thanks for the Enviro-Chem heads up!! I'll have to give them a call to check prices for the next load.

Sadly I think I had a similar experience with the same manager you wrote of. Like alot of places, got to figure out who the good workers are and who aren't.

Got .58 a pound downtown for some cast aluminum a couple days ago.

I bounce between two RSI (Now Northern) locations. ONe has no clue about escrap (tried giving me .10/# for mbs) the other will let me drop whole appliances, but take forever to cut a check now and have questionable ethics. I was turning in a load of brass and one worker commented that there was too much copper to consider it yellow brass. I had to explain that Brass is an alloy comprised of copper, nickle or tin. He was like, "what are you talking about? Thats not true.' I told him to show me on the periodic table where brass was and I'd shut up.

Yeah if you or any other local scrappers need a heads up, I got accounts for a bunch of different commodities in the area.
