i have no idea what x ray foil is made out of....my yard takes aluminum foil with pop cans , and they take any copper foil with number 1 copper...i once got over 200 pounds of copper foil from a power plant i was working at....it looked just like renolds wrap...i was very happy
Is x ray foil like regular x rays with the silver content? If so you might want to contact one of the buyers that buy X rays.
Sirscrapalot - I'm a little despot short an stout..
Looks like its lead foil, which makes sense for its weight
Found this...
[B]Lead foil may be disposed of by:
1.recycling the foil through a vendor who provides this service, such as Eastman Kodak. (Contact your dental film supplier for additional sources.)
2.recycling the foil by selling it to a local scrap metal recycler (check phone listings for “recyclers” or “reclaimers”).
3.disposing of the foil through a hazardous waste company, according to local, state and federal regulations. A copy of the manifest must be retained by the facility.
The generator of the waste should document the method of disposal with a bill of lading or other document (or manifest), and this document should be retained by the manager of the facility.
Recycling companies and hazardous waste companies must be licensed in many states. You may be able to locate a list of companies in your state by contacting your state Department of Environmental Protection. TCS also recommends that you contact your state DEP for guidance on disposal regulations in your state.
Wonderfull... Just my luck! Going to have to keep it safe like the cigar box of Mercury Switches I found

Sirscrapalot - Home is where the cactus is.
i sale all my lead on ebAY...goes for 1.50 to 2.00 per pound on there..if you find any of the lead tin solder or wiping solder it will fetch 8 to 10 dollars per pound....just make sure and put bullet casting in your title..and if you have the solder make sure you put the words tin in the title....
in my area lead sales for .10 to .25 cents depending on where you go....im not sure what it goes for in other areas..i do know i always sold it at flea markets or bait shops before i found ebay...ive never sold any to the scrap yard
X Ray film has like Sirscrapalot said has silver content, the older the x-Ray the more silver content, I personally have never saw x-rays with lead in them they have always had silver in them.
