I recently scrapped a lot of electric motors (cannot say how much for privacy reasons) for 29 cents per lb
Always been .15 cents here but when I took my stash in recently, I got .08. Next time I'll call ahead.
I will buy all your 8 and 10 cents per lb motors for 12 cents per lb

I talked to my contact at the yard I use today. Motors are n the way up right now street price is about .20 and a little more for regulars and large volumes. I think the .21 I said before was what I was getting, so street price is approaching last months special price.
He also said that the large motors usually take a small hit in price, but if you were bringing in tons of them, you could probably get the .20.
Currently looking for a job in or related to scrap/recycling. Relocation is possible for the right offer.
to any who were curious about my motor deal......i ended up going with a yard in galipollis ohio...i cant remember there name off hand but i do have it wrote down.... they paid me 32 cents per pound.....i hauled the motors up there in 2 loads the total weight was 15,460 pounds.........i know it was all my truck wanted ..
anyhow the folks were very nice, they offered me some very competitive prices for alternators, starters and stainless steel,, they also buy copper bearing material, none of the local yards do that in my area...they also pay way better for unclean aluminum....
all in all it was a very good connection, and the cool thing is it is only 1 hour and 20 minutes from my house...i can take back roads almost all the way there too and that is a plus
