Steel prices down at my yard

down to $140.00 GT. I know the other yard is down too but maybe at a penny higher so it looks like I'm going to be holding onto my steel for a while. Unless I have hubby turn it in by him, it is always higher there but I'm gonna have to call for their price.

What makes that price even worse is it being equal to 2240 pounds.

Since you work at the yard aren't you getting some sort of preferred pricing. If not you should ask for it

I would be thrilled with $140 a ton! Were getting $75 a ton! AND that's my prefered price! I wish I could hold onto my steel but I can not enough room and bills to pay.

Are you talking about tin or short steel?

Albany Weitsman gave me 214 for tin two days ago...I'd expect yours to follow suit soon

We are getting 225$ a ton. We have only one category for steel, no matter on how long or how big, cast iron, cars, appliances or bolts.

$185 NT is the street price at one yard near me...and $175 a GT at another yard. I will say that the yard paying $185/NT has steal laying everywhere....almost as if they are hoarding it. I haven't been by today, but was there yesterday. They usually clear the lot the last week of the month.

Straight shred. Weitsman calls it tin here. I hope they don't drop much further.

Are you on the East Coast? Prices like that here and people would be removing mailboxes, swing sets anything that they can get there hands on!
