    Invar36 price?

I have a large (to me) quantity of Invar36 (about 100lbs).
I cannot find a price listed for this specific alloy (64FeNi).
I was able to find a discussion on this forum from 6 months ago, and someone mentioned a price of about $15/lb.
A local yard offered me $1.40/lb!
Does anyone know of a good resource for the current price of Invar36?

Might check this site as they do list some alloys, not sure about yours tho. Might try using Google with "scrap ______ (insert alloy here) prices", you might have a ton of hits.

Current price of nickel is $6.87 lb.

With 36% Ni content, 36% of $6.87 lb is $2.47 lb.

Maybe $1.80 would be a fair scrap price, so $1.40 isn't that bad.

What does your yard pay for 304. 310 and 316 stainless steel?

    Thank you for the response.

I found another place that will give me $1.50, but I would need 500lbs. That may take a while!

I'm not sure what I would get for stainless, as I don't have a preferred yard at the moment.

Do you ask about those specific grades because they have a similar nickel content?
