Can someone fill me in if they know please?!
Last week I was getting $8.00/100#, January 30 2015 price dropped to $5.00/100#!

Does anyone know if it's gonna go back up anytime soon, or estimated time it will be this low?
I believe it's a lack of international demand on top of the large supply . Gas prices will move in correlation to metal demand . This will be the case for at least the next 6 months from what I have read/hear.

    Since November here:
    Prepared iron - $180 down to $110
    Tin - $160 down to $90
    #2 copper - $2.10 lb. down to $1.75
Low grade Motherboards .35 lb. down to .06 lb. (((hurl)))
My scrapyard buddy (manager) said everybody's been claiming they're not going to scrap anymore. I say, "See ya!"
    I don't think a true scrapper CAN quit. I know I'd need intervention...but that's just me.

Ok thanks for the info. All my yard staff would say is "we don't know when it will go up".
    Scary stuff lol
And yes the gas being $1.95/gal is nice, but $12+/ 100# is nicer!
I usually drain known good gas from recent vehicles.

In 2000 we were getting $15.00 a net ton for sheet iron so $.0075 a pound! I sure hope we don't get that low! I should see how much gas was going for in March of 2000... I found it $1.52 a gal

Aluminum is not dropping, unlike copper and steel. steel has dropped to $.05/lb here in Florida.

Rumor has it we may see a slight increase soon (.50-$1/100)
My yards owner told me that yesterday.
Also, gas is starting to rise from $1.95 average to $2.09-$2.15/ gal
This price of gas changed as of yesterday.
    Let's see what happens...

I called today sheet iron down to $30.00 a net ton, other place was $40. A week ago they were both paying $65 I figure I'll just call every day to get prices, they will tire of my calling and bring back up the prices! LOL

What yard in Montana is that, if you don't mind me asking.

I talked with Pacific in Billings, and shred is down to $0.03 per pound ($60/Ton)

Kicked this to the curb this morning (50#) as it's not worth cutting in half or taking up space...left a copper tail on there for it's new owner. Gone inside 30.

I guess different yards >> Different rules
As long as I remove the copper line and the tank is open to atmosphere >> There would be no reason to cut it in half

$40 a ton for shred up here. Its rough, cause i still have to empty my trailer.

I was told its at rock bottom right now and could start to head up in 4-6 months.

Take the rumors as what they are, gotta keep on truckin'

Called over to BW earlier and their getting 201/ton(0.10/lb) for steel, 136/ton(0.06/lb) for tin/vehicles, 0.47/lb for aluminum, and 0.09/lb for mixed. This is about where it was when I started bringing stuff to them a few months ago. They also said as long as I had title in hand or fill out an rm33, they'll take vehicles full of liquid or not which is nice.
