Hard brass scrap shall have a copper content of not less than 75%, a tin content of not less than 6%, and a lead content of not less than 6%nor more than 11%, and total impurities, exclusive of zinc, antimony, and nickel of not more than 0.75%; the antimony content not to exceed.

"forged red Brass" would be a lay description,
few yards buy it from peddlers and just toss it with the red or even the yellow

Cool!! It interesting to see how prices vary and have similarity around the country. Your Cu prices are about 30% higher than my main non-ferrous guy here and EMs 4x higher but Alum is fairly similar and you're lower than him on batteries. And you have multiple types of SS which around here is only offered as magnetic (goes for shred) or non-magnetic. If you were about 1,500 miles closer, we'd probably do some business!!

I asked about steel prices yesterday, light steel was $0.015 per pound. Was told if I had 1,000 pounds of HMS or more, They would take my light steel for $0.03 and $0.05 for the HMS. I think they really don't want the light steel, unless your selling 1/2 ton or more.

I think it's cool too, to compare prices across our country. As for SS, I actually buy from the public a few different grades. If you bring me some material, and it is clearly marked with the grade, I will GLADLY pay you for
SS 304, SS 316 (L), SS 400 (magnetic), SS R-400, SS K-500, SS 625, SS 725, SS 800, SS 825 & SS 2205. Whew, that was a mouthful. If anybody needs prices on ANYTHING nonferrous, just let me know and I will do my best. As for my "prices", the director of operations trusts me, and I alone can change prices in our server (to go out to all yards) and on individual items on both public and comercial tickets. If my customers bring in a bunch of a single item, and there not grumpy all the time, I tend to bump up the price a couple cents per pound. Especially if I see you 2 times a day, everyday without fail. My yard also buys from smaller secondary metals dealers and transfer stations. So I take in a good amount of good stuff that I can then mix with the not so good stuff I buy from my regulars.

I'm still buying Shred/Tin for $40 NT and #1 prepared/HMS for $55 NT, and I can do a tiny bit better if you have 1000 lbs or more.

I sold Yellow Brass today, way down at $1.10 a pound, CRV Plastic PETE $1.21 per pound, CRV Aluminum Cans $2.00 per pound, CRV is a little down, Brass is down $0.25 compared to 90 days ago. Didn't sell any Cu today but was quoted $1.60 per pound. So the only good news on the left coast is the day time temperature for the Super Bowl should be in the low 80's!

that CRV price is really good there are 32, 12 ounce cans in a pound so 32 X.05= $160/Lb add the current aluminum price of $.40 you have $2.00/Lb I suspect alot of people are only seeing $.35/Lb for cans right now
