We got a $5/Ton bump today. Better than goin down again
Just got off the phone with Ben Weitsman and for the moment it's $151/ton across the board(Steel, vehicles, tin, etc..). Guy I spoke to said Aluminum's up to $0.49/lb where it was $0.47/lb last month. Their facebook said their prices went up and had to go give em a call and see by how much.
My yard has about 10 different Aluminum Classifications with prices ranging from .15-.70ish cents a pound.

I believe so. This yard does a lot of shredding. A by product of which is ZORBA. This is mostly various types of aluminum and some other non ferrous. I believe that this is how they currently process most of their aluminum. They are installing a heavy media sepetation system, so this could be changing soon.

Now don't I wish lol. If I were related I could pull name rank on people and if I received royalties, I'd be rich lol. I refrence them everywhere because that's the yard I go to. Syracuse only has Weitstman/Upstate Shredding, Bodine(who's going out of business), and Empire(who's also going out of business).
My non-ferrous guy also has about 10 Al grades ranging from a nickel for "breakage" (what most of you call "dirty") up to 62 cents a pound for auto rims (I'm assuming they're aluminum). Clean Al is .42, painted Al is .47, mixed clip is .52, extruded is .55, and Al wire is .56. Some other oddballs such as Al pistons at a quarter. I hate alum breakage. I really don't want to mess with it unless there some poundage to it. A lot of washer & dryer motors go as Al breakage at this place.
What classification does stripped aluminum wire go in? There is no steel wire in the middle
Shredded Non-Ferrous Scrap ( Zorba ): ISRI Spec – Zorba
Made up of a combination of non-ferrous metals ( aluminium, copper, lead, zinc, magnesium, stainless steel, nickel and tin). The percentage of each metal within the non-ferrous concentrate might vary. Materials are passed through one or more magnets, to reduce or eliminate free iron.

How can they pay you Zorba when your stuff is still intact?
