I'm sitting on a little bit of copper and a growing pile of mobos. Unfortunately need some cash now, so which price is likely to go up first, copper or motherboards? Strictly an opinion poll.

METAL IS MY MISTRESS...PLEASE DON'T TELL MY WIFE!
copper but I hope alu prices go up even more. wishful thinking but with all the other scrappers out there just giving me most of it I have had a nice pile of ext building up since I have only been selling the heatsinks and with all the mowers this summer my other alu will build a bit to
Just an opinion but i don't see small socket mobos going up anytime soon. If anything ... they might further drop.
That would leave copper as the more likely suspect.
They say aluminum is looking good because Ford is changing over to aluminum bed bodies for their line of pickups. Ford is quite progressive with getting better fuel mileage out of their vehicles. They have been for quite awhile now.
For some quick cash I would unload the motherboards. It seems likes MOBOs and other components are going nowhere or down in value.
Copper is started a climb so it may be better to hold it for awhile.
I am stockpiling all my #1 and #2 copper, looking forward to that big sale! By the time copper prices get back up over $3/lb, I may have a container load ready to ship. I'm a quarter the way there now!
No guarantee the prices will rise soon...they have been artificially high cause of china...china has scaled back to normal
Sell Mo Boards. Copper is on rebound quick no matter what some of the people say just look at the charts and news.

Sell the motherboards.
Ive been sitting on about 20-30 desktop pc's that I havent even broken down yet. The last time I brought a batch in was last fall and I wasn't very impressed with the prices then. I can only imagine where prices are now since it seems like almost everything has been in decline lately.
Hopefully since the prices have been low, less people have been scrapping should turn into more abundant scrap for the regulars, and lets hope for a nice jump in prices this spring/summer
@ScrapGuru- Read this thread to see what desktops are currently bringing:

I have a pile in the back that are sitting. It's just not worth my time right now. I can make more money on other parts of the business, so they're camping out in the back until prices start to rise.
Copper,e scrap won.t recover until we pry gold manipulation away from the big traders and Banksters who are selling paper gold (as worthless as paper money) and buying physical gold.
Asians are paying as much as a $500 premium in some areas. I don't look for it to stop until WE THE PEOPLE grow a pair. ( Opinion.)
"anyone who thinks scrappin is easy money ain't doin it right!"
keep the copper if you can as it is good as poor man's gold, if not better.
I have always liked copper. It will go way up in the future and the other metals will follow.
When? When the war machine becomes popular once again. I can see a possible build up for such things.
War makes money flow and gives the people spending dough.
