Just for those curious, I'll keep this thread up to date whenever I go to the yard. There are only a few scrap yards in Honolulu (I am not sure how the neighbor islands work, but IF they have yards their prices are probably much lower. I know that the yard on the Big Island doesn't even accept shred).

Steel/Shred - $0.015-0.03
Aluminium - $0.25-0.32
Copper - $1.22-1.60
Insulated Wire - $0.05-1.00
Non-insulated - $1.22-1.60 (same as copper)
Cardboard - $0.01
You know you're in trouble when your yard buys shred at only half a cent more than they buy cardboard.
