Shredder yard is Metro Recycling in Blue island on Western ave.
Non shredder yard is Big Daddy Scrap in Chicago heights, but most of my non ferrous goes here.

Don't laugh to hard at me but the three yards in Denver I use for different reasons range from $70-$90 possibly $100 but I believe that was knot for turkey day weekend.
So yeah 4.5 cents a pound is our current high price for shred. All we get is shred in Denver. It's that or free your choice of course.

Just brought a couple of small loads to my yard. 700 lbs of Lt. Iron at $140.00/GT and 1160lbs of #1 prepared at $195.00/GT. Been pretty good around here for a bit, but down from the $220.00/GT it was at.

Scale prices in Albany today $176/gt for light iron, $250/gt for short steel (1 prep) and drums / rotors. Tier / dealer pricin even better.

Prices in Philly Trenton area did not go up in January.
Light iron $7.75/hundred and prepared #1/cast iron $8.50/hundred.
Upstate Shredding needs to buy a yard here.

I've got steel byproduct and have called a guy 3 TIMES to come and get it. Can't GIVE this stuff away apparently!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

Well, I had a few steel items on the trailer (I really don't gather too much steel because it takes up so much space) and I was going to look at a job. I was driving across the celery fields and I see a helicopter carrying a box on the end of a rope. They have a helicopter training area there (I guess), so I drove down the road to get a better look. Well, there is a curbco stove, and I think, "if I had more on the trailer..." I drive down to the end where the copter school is and there is another stove. So I turn around and get the trailer and pick up both stoves and head to the yard. Yard was stacked high. Had the steel and three motors, so I dumped the steel and took the motors over to the light scales. Should have dumped the motors with the steel....

$8 cwt for shred, $11 cwt for #1 prepared, $.72/lb for clean extruded, street prices. Can price is down though, weird.

Sheet/ shred: Wisconsin $195 net ton or $9.75 per hundred or $.0975 per pound. My load was 7500#. My closest yard at $165 and my favorite (but farthest away) yard at $205. Unprepared at 215nt or 220nt. 3' at 235nt or 285nt.
