$120 a ton here if you have more than one ton. Have to wear a face mask everywhere on their lot. It sucks unloading steel wearing a face mask.
They reduced their hours.
But at least they are open. Place was closed for quite a while.
Sioux City is still at $90/ton but they're expecting prices to go down next month
I seen American scrap metal in Alsip Ill is down to 80/ton on their FB page. Went to the only yard open on sundays and they are still at 100/ton.
Sioux City holding at $90/ton for shred. But price change expected next week.

$180.00 a ton for #1 iron in South Windsor, CT...... Not to shabby
My local yard will accept appliances only as a donation and not accepting aluminum cans at all. Prepared iron is $120 per net ton and unprepared is $90.
Give back more to this world than we take.
Crazy about the aluminium cans. Some yards here not buying them as well.
Better than the dump!
I throw my alum cans in with my other non-extruded alum and get $0.28/lb
I just got $0.45/lb for clean extruded
Light iron (including appliances and whatever else) $0.04/lb
unprepared iron $0.055/lb
#1 iron $0.06/lb
irony alum $0.06/lb
batteries $0.16/lb
elec motors/transformers $0.15/lb
auto rads $1.00/lb

Being near Trenton, NJ I am not near a Weitsman yard, but look at a Weitsman price sheet when I can find one.
The December 3, 2020 price sheet show tin/light iron at $220 GT. That is $196.43 net ton.
All the yards by me are still at the November price of $150 net ton.
Anyone getting close to $200 net ton at a non Weitsman yard?
$165 net ton for shred
The closest yard (50 mi. away) still does not accept aluminum cans. They are scared of the coronavirus. Yard 60 mi. in the other direction is paying .20 a pd.
Unprepared iron went up to $ 140 a net ton and prepared is at $ 170 a ton. They are also paying $ 50.00 a ton for appliances.
Over 30 tons has been hauled in the last week and a half at these prices. Using liquid oxygen to prepare farm implements when the prices were low, but overloaded the tub trailer (modified stock trailer) and have major work to do on it. Since I do most of the repairs, it is not a financial loss, just slows down the hauling since I am limited to two gooseneck flatbeds.
For those that know my lifestyle, it is time for Christmas vacation with skiing and snowshoeing on the agenda. It was a short time frame between hunting seasons and winter activities so the tub trailer is on the back burner. The problem is it is now ice fishing season so the scrapping may have to wait until spring. What a life, one day at a time.
