    $95 a ton.

Called around and found $50, $80, $95, and $105. The $105 was an answering machine and furthest away, so went with what I could trust.

Been mostly out of the game for long while. Was hoping for $160 a ton or there abouts. Nope.

I sold today at CDN 175 / MT or USD 117 / ton.
NEW TO SCRAPPING? READ THIS: Build up your horde of magnetic and non-magnetic metals in two piles until you have a better understanding of the business. Magnetic material has low value and is mostly always steel / shred / short iron. Read old threads about non-magnetic metals and ewaste (and how to sort them), but don't forget that they generally have absolutely no tolerance for contamination (screw / iron / foreign material).

Small bump at Sioux compressed for shred steel. $125/ton vs last week $115/ton. Not much but better than a drop.

Shred, cast and HMS are all the same price here for a while now so i dont separate it right now, straight to the shred pile. BUT.... i will throw the cast or hms aside if they want to move it to its proper pile lol

There is a pretty big spread here. #1 iron PPD $160/ton #1 iron UPPD $120/ton light iron $ 90.00/ton Clean cast $ 160/ton

I seem to remember awhile back that they were paying over $ 300/ton for clean cast.

40 years ago when I bought my property the price for a scrap car and most other iron type scrap was $20 a ton.

Then it went up to $40, then $80, then $120 over the years.

When it went up to $80 the scrappers were very happy. When it went up to $120 they were not as happy as the cost of living had increased far more then the scrap prices.

I always believed that it will always go up over the years so I mostly let it sit as I was busy with many other things to keep busy.

I have got rid of some scrap over the years, but it wasn't because I needed the funds, I just felt like scrapping and using the funds for my many hobbies.

Scrapping is one of my hobbies, but not my favorite as I have so many hobbies.

I'm very comfortable with how things turned out as I'm living my "childhood dreams" and then some.

Seems that most people dream more then they put into their personal thoughts.

Trying to figure out what is ahead is like trying to pick the winning lotto numbers.

Many try and very few succeed.
