Does anyone have a picture or news article of a scrap yard not paying or charging a tipping fee for steel(shread feed, appliance, tin, etc.)???
Thanks in advance

Come on a lot of you say it's out there but no one has the proof???
I'll grab a shot of the whiteboard at the yard next time I'm there. We're a small market, so there aren't radio, TV, or newspaper adverts for the yard.
More than Scrap Value Shipment Tips: http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/scrap...tml#post242349
Not quite there yet here. Saw a sign at sims that says they don't pay for ferrous under 300lbs now. They and Schnitzer don't pay for roll-off pick up/delivery loads anymore, I think they charge. Only USR still pays for them as far as I know. One more decent drop in prices will get all yards here to the bottom.
Got a phone call from the local yard (was my main yard for ferrous) this morning. They are not paying for light iron at this time, but of course you can dump it for free. Checked 3 other yards. 1 small yard - 2 cents, 1 medium yard (has small shredder) 1.5 cents, 1 large yard (has shredder, just not this location) 2.5 cents.
even better would be a ticket from the yard XXX lbs. @ $0.00 net ton
Are you F*****G kidding me? You're calling me a liar.
How about a link to Sullivan Scrap Metal (Holyoke, Ma) price list. They are not paying for light iron, #2 steel or #1 steel.

I'll get you a photo of the sign at my main yard. I'll even give you my weigh slip.
Mark my words, this is only the beginning. A lot of people are in for some big shocks.

I'm sorry you felt assaulted, I assumed the smilies would convey a lack of seriousness Please forgive me! ... But Rule 32 applies at all times
32. You must have pictures to prove your statements. Rules of the Internet
V/r HT1
HT1 Do you think these lower prices are due to the large amount of imported steel this country is getting? Or do you feel production of steel items is down in America?
it's interesting you said lower. I don't think these steel prices are low. the Chinese created a bubble(building and infrastructure) by paying too much for steel, now they are dumping it back
I personally think the price I have in this local is about right (U.S. South East 60/T retail) we will see lower. I'm sorry for those of you in the midwest as you will see penny a pound steel for some time to come. that is where steel should be in my opinion.

P.S. Ask Me how I feel about Cu, a lot of you might take up a new line of work
Uk prices emr, heavy no1 £50 light iron £25
everybody got long faces lots small guys one man bands going out of business .
Sullivan is 1.5 miles from me. Light iron was 40 for the last month. I haven't sold any thing since spring. Kept putting of the two small loads of light I have here plan was to get it out before snow. Looks like the empty towers will get snowed in.
Google first ask questions later!
1/2 penny a lb here in the ne all over. Only the true strong scrapper will prevail. Rest will be the way side. Resale is the key. I still drive 60 miles for washers and dryers. And some I pay for, but wont reveal what I make..lol. Actually still buying cars and trucks, just geared. Got 1200 in my trailer outside and still turning a buck. That is when the helper shows the f up to work so he can dismantle and I can sell sell sell online....:>
