Took some stuff yesterday to get it out of the way and down to $50/ton from last week. Also saw the yard has shortened their daily hours by 30 minutes through the week and about 3 1/2 hours on Saturday.

    I'm also in Philly suburbs.

A new scrap yard opened in Trenton, NJ 3 months ago with aggressive pricing.

Light Iron/shred price went up slightly in September from $5.35 a hundred to $5.50.

Cast iron and #1 prepared are $6.50 a hundred.

I've been out of the game for the most part for about a year now. I'll still pick up computers & copper/brass things. A few days ago I was out & about on my day job & found three water heaters just a few blocks from the scrapyard. I thought I'd read on here that the market had recovered somewhat. Well, $0.02/lb for a total of $9.20. Not even worth the risk of catching a flat at the yard.

    DFW area, BTW
