    Christmas Lights again

OK so low prices suck still! I can get the following prices at a yard here...

    Christmas lights $.12 lb.
or break them down and get...
    #2 insulated wire $.45 lb.
Copper Content (for the cut off bulb ends with lights) $.04 lb.

I will get a + $.10 bonus to the prices above as it will be the bonus load of scrap.

It looks like as prices are so low I may sell them as is... less schnip'en

Your doing better than where I am at, Christmas lights here are #3 insulated (and have to snip the bulbs).

I snip the bulbs aftER I test them. I get .65 for Insulated plus I sell the bulbs at $5 per 100. Bulbs add up quickly.

I would like to find a scrap place here in the valley that offers a bonus. The only thing they offer is low payouts.

Isn't Mesa part of Phoenix now? If it did get swallowed up by the sprawl called Phoenix that's why.

I'm a Tucson resident still in spirit. :P

Hobo...I think I may need you to check on my old bar.

An yes bulbs add up very fast. I wasn't kidding about eBay.

There is a buyer for most everything, you just need patience to find them for some things. Heh.

Sirscrapalot - My AZ license is good til 2042..I love it when peoples eyes pop out of their heads when they look at the exp. date. An yes...I have both, AZ and a NC license. I ain't giving up my AZ one without a fight. haha!

Gotta love November, just brought 45lbs of Christmas lights in for #2 insulated .65lb plus had good day selling the bulbs made an extra $45. The way I see it we do what we do for the hunt, the big score. Roughly a $100 for sitting in my garage not the big score but hey it's beer money.

    Airborne!!!

I'd also like to know where/how you are selling the bulbs. I've got a bag full of maybe 300 lights from Christmas light strings that I have held on to hoping some day I would find a place to sell them. Please do let us know!

eBay is one of the options most folks use.

Not that I've said this before or anything...in this thread, or the other one, or the other one, or the ...you get the picture.

I just noticed the other threads. This is a bigger topic than I thought.

I figured wrcarcieri had another lead or else he would have said eBay in the post.

Crazy I say I guy fill up a big ford truck full of Christmas Trees from a church sale has Sonoran plates and these trees were resalable not $.03 sheet iron he would get at a scrap yard, so he did good for an 80 mile drive. Also a lady that bought all the Christmas lights filled up a small washer or dryer box and this was on this first day of the sale Thursday, by Saturday they go 1/2 price and then down to $2 a paper grocery bag to fill and take away of $5 a garbage bag for clothes

How's it going my fellow Scrappers. I don't use ebay to much. I only post circuit boards from flat screens there. My Xmas Tree Lights I go to the flea markets to sell. It's not much but it's a good time with my son. Also I know winter is right around the corner, I just bartered an AC Unit (Kenmore 1500 BTU) for 85lbs of Venison. In our buisness scrap is worth more then money. So my opinion, if your freezer is running low try a trade it worked for me and hopefully it works for you.
