Finally a scrap paying reasonable prices for e-scrap

I took a load of scrap ti Schnitzers in Eugene today. They don’t have prices for everything yet but I was happy with what they paid. Here is a list:
    Small socket mother boards. $1.45
    Finger boards. $3.70
    Gold ram. $14.50
    Laptop batteries. $.65
    Power supplies with pigtails. $.23
Cast alum (includes hd bodies). $.52
Sheet alum (includes heat sinks). $.50
    Low grade boards. $.12
Hard drive motors (they didn’t have a category for this but paid as copper recovery). $.70
    Ribbon wire. $.75

    Prices of other items:
    Shred. $95.00/ton
    Bare bright. $2.70
    #2 copper. $2.45
    Electric motors. $.13
Insulated copper wire (they included computer wire and cords together). $.90
    Transformers. $.10
    Lead acid batteries. $.25

They were easy to work with with and had me in and out in less than an hour. Total load weighed just over 3000 lbs.

I meant to say finally a scrap yard in Oregon paying reasonable prices. Round trip was 230 miles but still worth it.

That looks pretty good but the laptop batt price seems low. Then again, I don't know a lot of SMF buyers in the west who are buying them.

    Good find!

I agree. Ewasted pays $1.50 for them but my cost to ship has been .70/lb to get stuff to him from where I live so I only gave up about 15 cents and didn’t have to go to the trouble of shipping them.

I agree with your thoughts on the value vs work on that but when you start shipping pallet(s) you will find you are better off shipping. I live in eastern NC and shipping 65lbs boxes cost me $0.50/lb now a pallet is in the $0.20/lb area. Oh and the pallet is in excess of 1000 lbs. 73, Mike
