SW MO and we just bumped up to 7.3c per pound for shredder and a dime a pound for short. Almost like the good ole days!

I am waiting on a written bid from them to bring in equipment(bigger forklift) and remove the presses. That's what finally got me down to their yard. Someone(David) came out to bid the job and in doing so told me I could get $150 for all the smaller equipment I am hauling myself. SA recycling is so close and is a bit faster getting in and out but that doesn't make up for $90 a ton. I got to walk through their shop with Noah and check out how CFS grades everything. I am wishing I would have started going there a long time ago.

We sent Lite Iron in, yesterday, and it came to $.0475/#. That's about a $.005 change since the last trip a couple of weeks ago. Motors were up a bit, though.

I got like 20-30 brake rotors today, and I thought, "I'm gonna ask him about these", cause I always see the heavy pile by the shred. I'm a noob on the ferrous side of things. He said yes they pay more for them, and explained a little bit. My ticket said "H.M.S. Prepared" for them, and it's at $.11 CWT.
Been looking it up tonight starting to understand it, pretty cool.

Brake rotors and drums should go as auto cast. Here rotors pay $10/ton more than HMS.

Well he definitely knew they were brake rotors, so I guess that's just what they do for them. That's too close of a price for me to want to say anything about it, but thanks for letting me know. Maybe i'll ask if he'll bump my price a little if I ever bring 1 ton or like a half ton of rotors/hms.

Steel in SW MO is up again. My yard is 165 a ton for shred now and 220 for short/cast. Their sister yard 70 miles away is paying 250 for short. Pretty much everything else has been status quo for months. Aluminum, nickel, and lead are all up year over year, but prices have just stagnated.
