    Copper prices significantly down

Just looked at copper prices for first time in a couple weeks at my yard and #1 is down $0.30 to $2.05 a pound. Any insights into the sudden large drop?

Wow, logically that makes no sense. Could it somehow be related to the tariffs?
Copper, brass, and Leather. 3 of my favorite things.

To be fair though...your quite the distance from those of us in the States.

Let's all ship our copper to MSMoorad.

China has quit taken a lot or the low grade copper item . Which in turn has left a lot of copper needing a new home. Companies see this as an opportunity to pick up copper at lower prices. Then with tariffs . People are nervous . One company I deal with sold aluminum 2 weeks ago . Tried to sale some this week got a price of 30 cents per pound less . It is aluminum out of a car shredder .

Understandably sucks for selling. I see the demand going up in the future. May take months to a year but once things settle down in trade economics things will get better. I'm spending all my play money on copper and silver.

You will. I have to adjust my prices soon, I didn't want to but a 40 cent drop since I posted them last is pretty crazy.

#2 was up to $2.09 by me now it's down to $1.96. The druggie yard was only paying $1.65 for #2 when everyone else was $2.09, but I have never taken and never will take any copper or brass there.

#1 up a quarter since last month to $2.35, first large rise since I started tracking prices in October last year. Encouraging, hopefully it keeps going. Those of you who track prices year round, does it usually rise in the spring?
