    Domestic Ni Cad/Alkaline 'Pencil'Batteries AA AAA etc?Prices?

    Often see here collection points in stores etc for Ni Cad AAA ,AA Alkaline Pencil domestic batteries.
    Actually bucket loads of them
    Someone must be recycling or selling these.
    Any idea of a price per pound/kg?
    All I know is my local yard only take lead auto/car battries...........

    No market here on this forum that I know of...........The big ewaste guys seem to be charging for recycling of these batteries but what they are doing with them after that is anyone's best guess

    Summary - Real Disposal and Recycling Methods

    Check with your local solid waste management district (listed under County Government in your phone book) for any outlets for household battery recycling. See if your local jeweler, pharmacy or battery retailer will accept button batteries for recycling. Ohio EPA keeps a list of battery recycling and disposal companies on file; however, these companies are usually set up to serve industrial or municipal customers with bulk amounts of batteries rather than individuals.
