How much is actually here?

Good afternoon guys,
I own an electrical company and have been saving the scrap copper for several years now.
I am trying to figure out is there any calculations to determine how much pounds I actually have. It is the largest dumpster (30yd?) available and it is PACKED FULL!
I will try to upload a video of it. I’ve heard from 6000 pounds to about 30,000 pounds so I am completely in the dark.

With that much I would make sure you don't get cheated........stories of people filling dumpsters of scrap for companies like PSC and getting very small payout due to charges incurred

Hi RNR and welcome to the forum. The largest common roll-off dumpster will be a 40 yarder. If truly packed full - as in squashed down with an excavator or something like that you could get 30000lbs into a 40 yarder if it is bare copper wire or higher gauge insulated wire. For cat-5 or below kinds of wire you would have to bale it to get 30000. Photos or video would help. And if it comes to it, I know someone at a major commercial yard in Jacksonville who pays top wire and copper prices that I can send your way.

in a 4x4x4 box we usually had around 800-1200lbs of insulated wire. we didn't bale them but usually they would make my fat @$$ jump up and down on the wire to pack it in.
