Cool Whats Scrap Going For In Your Area?

    Greetings fellow scrappers,

What's scrap going for in your area?

I recycle in the Harrisburg, PA. area.

Scrap value here naturally differs depending what scrap yard it's taken too.

But the outfit I take mine to pays $11.00 per hundred pound for Ferrous.

#1 Copper just took a slight dive from $3.25 per pound to $2.40 per pound

I have not been to the yard since prices started going in the crapper so I'm just going to sit on the stuff I have for the time being until things improve.

Closing my eyes and plugging my ears. LALALALALA. I don't want to see this news. Torn on turning in before prices tank more, or holding for prices to get better. Last weekend, I picked up a good bunch of 6 gauge 240 that I have been stripping. Bought it at a garage sale for $5. Took me about 30 minutes to strip 8 1/2 pounds yesterday, and I have about 30 left to strip. Was going to try and hurry to beat the price drop, but will probably wait now. Also have a good bunch od AC copper.aluminum to tear down. Dreading the price drop, but need the room. (I will get quicker with the stripping)

YEahmet the guy today. Well when I got there he had set up for 2 other guys tomeet him at same time. I told him I could do it next weekend the other guy said he could start today. So he gave it to the other guy. They going to have fun they going to do it with torches. Going to take them alot of time to cut it up with torches. If they flake on him I told him he could call me and I would come finish the job.
