    Denver shred price is?

Thaught I would let you all know that all recycling is paying $240 a ton for shred right now. It went from $180 to $240 in just over a week. Might have something to do with the fact the usual moutian of metal is a molehill right now but I wont complain.

Like they say....... "Supply & Demand" Of course I can't speak for all area's, but as far as the upper Mid-West, the fluctuations in scrap market pay-out prices is fairly normal this time of year. The Market trends for the past 5- years show the same up's and down's, at least very closely.

It's always a great feeling when you expect 180.00 per ton and then find out at the window it's up 20. or 40.00 per ton.

You know another thing that can effect your local market is the local Hvy Industry, ie; if you have a Foundry near by (like I do) and they suddenly need more shred / sheet, iron, that will bump up my price instantly. We have been steady with sheet at 260.00 ton for two months because of the local foundry, but it was just lowered on monday down to 240. ton ( LG Quantity)

I have to get back out there to work, Everybody Have a good Safe day out there!!
Hey one more thing: Seat Belts saves lives, in auto's as well as in Equipment.

Wasn't planning on going to the yard anytime soon but thanks to a text from PTS yesterday, decided there was no time like the present. Mostly non-ferrous stock piled but a quick sweep of the house then off to the shop for whatever shred was laying around...ended up with almost a C-note that the wife is more then happy to spend. T'is the season she exclaimed as she rode off into the night.

At my yard in New York state today I was surprised how little metal they had at their shred pile. Normally two large piles the size of a mansion, one pile was completely empty and the other one had maybe 15% of normal.

They were paying $287/gross ton, which is 12.8 cents a pound.
