150 a ton for street sweeper

Hey guys i have a 63 eglin street sweeper for scrap. No engine or trans.
Have been thinking over how to cut it up efficiently.

Today i was offered 150 a ton for it, as is. Dont have to drain fuilds or anything.
Flat bed will pick it up



Think that is fair price for something that large? Never dealt with anything this big before

Did you pay $1000 for it, if you did and your only getting $150 a ton I think your going to loose money on that deal. Stockweight was 10000 lbs. miness the motor and trans. your left with 90000 lbs. devide that by 2000= 45 x 150= $675.00. I don't know what your yard pays for things like this but the yard I use pays $12 a hundred or $240 a ton for cars. Iwould never buy something like this unless I had a way to move it. Just my .02

I'm coming up with $750 if it weighs 10,000, and you said it doesn't since the motor/trans were pulled.

What would it be if you cut it up and haul it in?

I will call the flat bed tomorrow and set it up.

And i did not pay anything for it, so any money is a win win. This way also i can save my acetylene and oxygen and hone my skills on smaller easier cuts.

OK landmine I get it now when I saw the cl add it said $1000 but you got it for free. Free is always good, get that flat bed out there first thing and make some fast money. Good job!!!

And people like drozenski are the ones I watch like a hawk in my yard.. If you are cutting it up I would sell it.. Using acetylene isn't cheap and street sweepers have a big container on them that is thin.. Takes a lot of cutting for what little weight you will get out of it.. On the other hand you can get a better price for the frame and axles once cut. And if it is like the street sweeper we bought.. It has two motors, one to run the sweeper. We took the thin container and water tank off of ours and put a screw compressor on it using the sweepers diesel motor; making a big sandblast truck lol.. we will use it for a bit then cut it up for scrap.

Can you say rip off? I would want 300 plus a ton for crying out loud there getting 400 to 450 a ton from the mill. I would have laughed at the yard. Call another one and tell them you will deliver it with a rollback and stop calllin BS scrap yards.

Drozenski, why would you say something like that? Talk about dishonest! And it amazes me that you run a business and say things like that with your company name as your signature. Now we can all associate your business with your crooked views...bad form man.
