    Atlas Metals Denver, CO 4/5/12

Took a load in this morning and was happily surprised by better than expected prices! I weigh most of my stuff before I take it in for a few reasons. I like to compare my scale to theirs and if I have 16lbs 15oz of copper I don't want the scale to round down and lose 3 bucks but today got me wondering. I weighed my copper and had 17lbs 2oz and the ticket said 18lbs. Aluminum Extrusion weighed 19lbs 3oz on my scale but the ticket said 20lbs. Is this really a yard that rounds prices up? Any other explanations? I am a happy man and will continue using these guys for a long time to come.

    #2 copper = $3.29 per lb
yellow brass = $2.20 per lb
Electric motors = $.35 per lb
AL Extrusion = $.72 per lb
mixed aluminum = $.63 per lb
cast aluminum = $.60 per lb

Does anyone in Denver know a good place to take fridge condensers?

Wow that is some good prices. We bring in a gaylord of #2 copper and dont get maybe .10/lb more. I feel your yellow brass price is also great.

Yeah I was amazed at the #2 copper price and I even thought the extrusion price was pretty incredible too.

I'm assuming their steel prices are decent too considering the amount of vehicles in line waiting for the scale. Only downside to these guys is they don't take condensers period along with automotive batteries.

Not sure if these prices stayed the same, spot prices have dropped some since then.
