Tin coated copper containg brass in tvs n monitors

Ok so ive asked this in a previous thread, and have searched, for it with no exact answer...im talking about the tin coated copper on tvs n monitors that has insulated wire connected to it as well as small brass connectors..



So what do you guys do with this.?..ive been clipping the insulated wire n tossing the tin coated copper w brass connected into a 55 gallon drum.. ive been told it goes as #2 copper but brass is worth less.. therefore im still confused..thx in advance

You can cut the little brass or tin pieces off, and throw it in with your #2 copper. Pretty much all yards take it as that, havent found 1 that won't. Those little brass connectors arent worth saving. Just don't weigh enough. I just throw em in with my tin.

Yes mechanic..id rather not have to clip the the fittings off if it Isnt necessary..so do u guys have to clip those off or do they take it as #2..

I don't clip ends. My yard takes as #2. As always with ??'s like this ask your yard. I have a good relationship with my yard because I ask these kind of questions and have things separated per their specifications. It makes their job easier.

Thought I'd comment on this old thread for the new guys that have little experience with scrap yards.
