    Magnesium scrap

The custom wheel builder just moved out of my building, He gave me about 150lb of new Magnesium strips. They are bicycle wheel lengths before they get rolled into a wheel and fused. Any idea what I should expect per pound? Local place says .35 but that seems low. I could be wrong thou.

I once found a BBQ grill that was made from Magnesium. I just added it to my cast alum pile. Looks like the grill was recalled do to it catching on fire!

I just dropped off 200 aluminum bicycle wheels last week. This is the strips of magnesium they were going to use to make new prototype wheels but changed the design. I thought it would be worth more then dumb old aluminum.

I did a google search and found that the price is about $1.50/lb on the exchange quote. I would think that the limited amounts involved $0.35/lb might be reasonable. Depending on the yard it might take a long time to get enough to ship. I would try as many yards as you have available to get a price from each. Mike.

Now go beat the copper out of something, Miked
