It might seem like a ridiculous question but i browsed a few sections of the forums and couldnt find anything on it, maybe i over looked it

Can dumb bells, the ones used for exercise, be sold as scrap metal? What are they usually made out of ?

plastic filled with sand. Or cast iron for most others. yes, you can sell them as cast iron.

expanding the question up a bit, lets say i have 50 pound dumb bells, will that sell as 50 pounds of scrap cast iron or is there anything else that should be considered?

just makes it easy knowing exactly how much weight you have.

It's all cast iron.

Except for the plastic ones, those are not worth a dime at the yards.

This is what I do(might be diffrant from others on this forum) if a magnet sticks to it throw it in the steel pile. When I get a truck load I take it to the scrap yard. It's that easy.
