I am part time but, I put in a good amount of hours per week. It depends how much overtime is available at work. Scrapping can't come anywhere near my overtime rate . When work is slower I scrap more. Almost everyone else around by me does it full time.

I too do it part time. But some weeks when its not so hot and i have a large inventory or computers im putting in well over 32 hours a week tinkering with them. Im an electronics scrapper so my work is much less labor intensive and i dont really spend so much time looking for my waste. Thanks to my day job ive made several contacts that provides my enough computers, servers and monitors to keep me busy. If i quit my full time job i would probably lose my connections for my electronics so they kinda go hand in hand. I havent been in the business long but i am doing very well in my oppinion and learing to do even better. Ive processed well over 700 towers in 4 months. Between resell and scrap im averaging about $14 a unit. This average cost is not counting any ceramic CPU's. Im just collecting those for a rainny day. I have very little overhead since my scrap is free and i work from home. My biggest expense would be the plastic totes i purchased for scrap storage and the 8 hour round trip to deliver to my buyer which i will try to do once every two to three months.
