Found a 14k gold ring, beat to hell and run over and flattened. Where to cash it in?

any cash for gold place will do, but they will try and jerk you if you dont know what you're talking about.

you need to know the market price, and the recent market history when they try to argue trends. also, they need to test it and weigh it in front of you, and make sure to ask if they weigh grams or pennyweight. it makes a difference as a pennyweight it about 1.5grams, but they will offer you some price that sounds good (if it were price per gram).

and then be ready to negotiate and walk away to the next shop. any jeweler will buy it too, and they all want ID. if they dont ask for ID, they are shady... which means their prices are probably low.

Another place that the metal detecting forum guys have reccomended is ARA. Becareful and know what you are doing before you sell. I personally have never heard of a good deal with a jewlry store but I'm sure it is possible. Mike.

I would send to refiner before I send to ebay. Midwest is paying 95% of spot on your weight. If you sell it on ebay for 100 percent of spot your only going to get 85 percent after paypal and ebay fees. You would have to sell it for 112% of spot to get the same 95% from midwest.

They will pay you spot minus 2% for the recovered gold and return the stones to you when you get the check.

I have used them and they are great.

Most jewlery is not true karat as marked. Take a 14K ring, standards alow for the ring to be legaly at 13.5K in the US and possibly less in other countries. If your buyer is giving you true 14K value he is getting you some where else.
