How to break down a yoke. For beginners.

Hello, Im just responding to a previous post on here where someone showed a video on how to break down a yoke from a crt monitor. He did it step by step and was very thorough. It was good to see all the parts separated and laid out. It is good to do that at least once. This video is for beginner scrappers on how to break down a yoke quickly and effectively.

Your video is much more realistic then the other...nice work. The only thing I do different is smash them in a large, old metal dish pan so that I can dump it when done.

Those were tv yokes not monitor yokes, monitor yokes are easier to brake down, the copper is not wrapped around the ferrite and there is more copper than a tv yoke. But still a good video.

Nice video, thanks. I was not satisfied with my earlier cleaning of yokes and have accumulated a decent pile while waiting for new ideas.

we use similar process except we put them in a metal trashcan and use a sledgehammer to pound straight down on them. we can do a few at a time and contain the mess easier
