omg i give up on the numbers. any help by picture would be appreciated. for some reason the numbers keep coming and going.. i thought it was size of pic so i resized but then when i go back to preview some of the numbers are there and some are not.
sorry for the confusion.. hopefully someone can help w/out my sketchy numbering system lol
i think i will take my first load today or monday... well at least steel, copper, and aluminum.
i put some numbers on the pics to clarify. i got about 25lbs of different alum about 25 of copper 2 clean and 25 insulated...the below is stuff i am not sure about.. it started out as 4 pictures so sorry ahead of time for the number of questions. obviously its a lot so if you dont want to go through each number but see something that i have a wrong assumption about i would appreciate a correction. these clarification will help me in the future w/ like items. so thanks to anyone who responds.
1- typical heatsinks w/ fans. are these the only type that are extrusion? Are the flat ones like 2 in the picture every extrusion? I had all ones like 2 in the sheet box but then i found some that look like number 3 in the pic. 3 are ones w/ either a extruded bottom and really thin sheet attached fins or are ones that are really thin sheet alum. so i was wondering if the thicker ones like 2 that are flat are extrusion to or just a thicker sheet?
When i first started reading the back threads i saw a pic of the object number 4 (the part w/ the round thing w/ the diagonial lines and the rod or pipe its attached to not necessarily the cast part) and i have always put them aside because i thought i saw someone say that they were different than just shred. i dont see why they would be but maybe it was in reference to the ones that have the cast aluminum part on them. is this anything but shred not including the cast part? i am sure that cast part unscrews but i cant get some of them off. if they were together could i turn that whole thing is as dirty aluminum..of course on the ones that are alum. Same picture number 5, that is part of a garbage disposal. Its aluminum wire. what would that go in if i dont take the wire off? i have a bunch of stuff that has alum on it that i cant clean but it seems to me that they would not take it as alum bc of the other steel weight?
6- all number 2 copper right? 7- top is stainless steel that i cant get off..i could hold that back to try again.. what would it go in if i turn it in as is?
all of the stuff around number8, i would think by looking at it it would be cast but its not the breakable type. Is this still cast? the pipe number 9, i would think the pipe would be extrusion w/ the attached part being cast? a lot of my questions are on stuff like this that are stuck together.. if i cant get that piece off, what will the whole thing go as? part on the top not breakable type either. 10 is the part that attaches a bicycle pedal to the bicycle. is that extrusion? 11 sheet?
12 is what aluminum was on a gas blower after breaking down. is that cast? 13 i think these come off ceiling fans.. they are aluminum and steel inseparable from what i can tell. another one of those, looks like to much steel to be dirty alum?
14 alumimum pipe that were legs to a few different things. some of them are old beat up and thin but i dont see any seams and the other is perfectly round no seams. 14- extrusion? 15 foot scooter that has pieces welded together? is that extrusion or sheet? it pretty thick. 16 is some sort of display dish.. it has a black painted bottom, no seems looks like one solid piece... i have no idea what that would be.. cast?
18 bike frame.. extrusion? what about those black parts beside it w/ the clamp? extrusion?
i have another bike that has all the steel off except the parts on the bottom bracket and the bic has a bunch of paint on it. it would be dirty alum even if i were to get that bracket off right bc of the extra paint?
19 (top of picture) alum from one of those tents.. extrusion? it has ridges in the metal that look like extrusion.
20 is a by the door light house.. it looks like it should break like cast but doesnt.. maybe just old. cast?
21 and 22 (the items on the left and middle, 23 is the right side winding things) go together correct? what about 23.. does 23 have enough copper to be transformer/cpm? can 21 and 22 go in w/ those fans and plastic parts?
25 i assume that stainless steel part comes off but i cant get it to. where would it throw that if i cant get it off?
26 is the part of a ice maker that sticks in the water.. its copper w/ a coating of alum maybe? to dirty for number 2?
27 maybe a vcr or something like that? cast, extrusion?
28 i found a bunch of these hot rollers.. dirty alum w/ the plastic on it? it doesnt weigh enough to take off.. how much extra stuff can be on alum and be dirty price. is there a point where they will nto take it?
29 this is what was left of the blower motor that i could not get the steel off. does that not come off w/out cutting? dirty alum?
30 all dirty alum.. again, what is to much steel for them not to take as dirty alum? theres only one alum when its dirty right?
31 is the turn knob on stainless steel sink parts. my question is, the bolt looking thing inside.. is that going to be SS too or is it reg steel welded inside there? i dont have a magnet small enough to fit in there and it doesnt stick to the outside in that area..
