another question.. this compressor came from a ice making machine. does it have any resell value?

i see some on ebay refrigerator compressor | eBay but they all look new w/ parts and stuff. ive seen comments about not turning them upside down/etc. Are they generally only bought new or w/ some sort of certification that they work? i didnt see any on craigslist.
