How much would you pay for scrap vehicles?

Where I live shred price is $165 a ton. I know the weight of the vehicle makes a difference. But say you get a regular size car or a small pickup truck such as a S-10 or Ford Ranger. I offer $75 for these type of cars. Just wanted your advice if you think this is to much. Thank you for your time.

i buy them for $500-$1000 but thats to part out, if your close to a major city you cant get cars for under $500 due to the amount of scrap/salvage yards in the region to compete with

Medium size $30.00 is it has a cat $50.00, large $50.00 regardless if it has a cat or not.

From my experience not every cat has enough comb left inside to warrant getting excited.

The scrap yard is an hour and a half from where I live, it was costing me $100.00 in fuel for the round trip. Sold the guzzler, building a new trailer for next year.

I bought a camaro last year for $600 and did some minor repairs added new seat covers and floormats resold it for $1,600. Honestly i wish i had kept the car. There is definetly money to be made flipping and parting out vehicles bought as scrap.

I always add up how much the scrap value is, cat value, battery, and wheels, then i divide that by 3. Always works out for me. Today a got a Hundai Accent, Ford Expedition, Ford Taurus for $400. I expect to get $290 for Hundai, $600 for the Expedition, and $350 for the Taurus. $1240 total.

Love them old cars, usually give 100-200 depending on age, weight and how complete it is. My 84 Chevy c-20 is running a 350 I saved from a wrecked pickup, it's always a plus scrapping vehicles that has parts you can use.
