THey pay clean brass price here for bronze.
Why brass when it is copper/ tin?
My old yard (in Jersey) paid above brass for bronze. $2# brass, $2.35# bronze.
I just moved so i dont know what yards here are paying.

I thought bronze was copper/tin and brass was copper/zinc?
Sorry I stand corrected, brass is copper and zinc.
I have a call into to someone selling bronze yard sculptures. Is a garden supply place going out of business so i figured i would get an idea of what i could offer and not take bath on it. Have to call my yard tomoorow.
the last time i had a chunk of "bronze" on the scrap scale it was priced as red brass and was a few coins higher than the yellow brass per#
below is a screen shot of another online buyer that lists prices and breakdowns i check against the yards i use
watch out for bronze plating on some of those "bronze" lawn sculptures
brass is usually copper / zinc where as bronze is copper / tin. Bronze should be paid out 30% higher than brass. The problem would be finding a buyer for it. I am sure the yards love to pay brass price for it.
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com
I AM ACTIVELY BUYING ESCRAP OF ALL TYPES. BOARDS, RAM, CPUS AND MUCH MORE
There is Alum Bronze and Mag Bronze both should have a slight draw with a magnet that hangs from a chain. Some places pay more some less depends on if they sell to a mill or another scrap yard. High Tin/Copper brass is usually a machine brass found in gears and bearings its also has lead but no zinc.
The only way to tell the difference between the 2 is silver nitrate.
Just throw it all in your yellow unless you have mass quantities of.
Also some gear brass is Al or Mag bronze so i wouldn't throw it in with your machine brass which is a higher price than red brass.
