Is it worth it to pay a small amount for an appliance such as a washer/dryer or dish washer? How much scrap value is in each one and what could you pay and still make $$$??
Washer?
Dryer?
Dishwasher?

im sure you could pay $5 for washers and dryers and still do very well, $1 is the most id go on a dishwasher, they are mostly plastic
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com
I AM ACTIVELY BUYING ESCRAP OF ALL TYPES. BOARDS, RAM, CPUS AND MUCH MORE
some people pay for them, some people take them for free, some people charge a fee to get them, it depends on your situation
I have paid $5 in the past for the heavier appliances but restricted it to a 5 mile radius of my home, and they had to be in the garage or driveway but not out at the street where someone else could take it. It was worth the investment to help build a client base, I did stop paying a couple of cycles ago when prices were down.

you can drive around the stores that do appliance installs and figure out which ones leave the appliances out for scrappers to pick up
I have never paid for an appliance so far. I do hear there is some value in the dishwasher racks though depending on some models. So I guess if you are paying $5 for the dishwasher and getting over scrap value for just the racks, then scrap value for the remainder, you would have a good thing going.

the control boards in appliances sell very well also, the ones in fridges with dispensers in the doors go for $50-$150 each.
I have a washing machine and 2 hot water heaters Im scraping. I already figured out from previous threads what to do wiith the hot water heaters, but what should I do with the washer? Do I bring it whole or are they worth tearing apart?
Newc33, brake it down, the panel behind the controls should be aluminum, lots of wires (#2 insulated copper) in most washers the motor has aluminum windings but you should be able to sell it seprate.
You answered my question. Ill break it all down.
